BARBIZON
Barbizon lies in the heart of the Fontainebleau forest, just 45 minutes from Paris. A small quiet hamlet, Barbizon soon became ‘the village of painters ‘. The shimmering colors of the houses and the perspectives offered by the landscapes marveled Impressionists such as Monet. Due to its growing fame, the village attracted a large number of artists and writers such as Colette and Apollinaire.
