Barbizon lies in the heart of the Fontainebleau forest, just 45 minutes from Paris. A small quiet hamlet, Barbizon soon became ‘the village of painters ‘. The shimmering colors of the houses and the perspectives offered by the landscapes marveled Impressionists such as Monet.
